Mobicosa helps Arthritis
80 x 500mg capsules
Mobicosa is a cold processed marine extract of the New Zealand Green lipped Mussel (Perna Canaliculus). This mussel, unique in nature, when properly processed has the ability to offer safe and effective relief from the pain, inflammation and other debilitating symptoms often associated with rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. A number of clinical studies have shown that the mussel has the ability to relieve multiple symptoms of arthritis when compared to conventional anti-inflammatory drugs 1,2.
In fact, this small marine animal has the exceptional ability to aid the body in halting the progression of joint and connective tissue disease as well as promote the regeneration and healing of arthritic and injured joints. The mussel contains natural anti-inflammatory agents, immuno-modulators and many essential building blocks needed to rebuild collagen, proteoglycans and synovial fluid found in the joints, ligaments and tendons.3
For people seeking a natural long term solution to their arthritis the cold processed green lipped mussel product Mobicosa represents a viable alternative. However it is important to note that Mobicosa may not be taken by anyone who has shellfish allergies and safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been proven to date.
Mobicosa contains many times (hundreds in most cases) the Omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oils but most importantly it contains a special band of polyunsaturated fatty acids called E.T.A.'s (eicosa tetranoic acids). These fatty acids have the unique ability to down regulate production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, agents that contribute to the inflammatory cascade.
The Green Lipped Mussel extract (Mobicosa) also provides a rich source of natural glycosamineoglycans which are the principal components of cartilage and synovial fluid found in joints. They are essential in providing shock absorption and for stabilising joints. They increase the uptake of water into the cartilage matrix a phenomena which decreases with age. This hydration of the joints is critical for lubrication and a loss of glycosamineoglycans inevitably leads to greater stiffness in the joint and increases the potential for injury.
The unique combination of natural biologically active compounds found in the Green Lipped Mussel includes: - Chelated minerals, glycosamineoglycans, chondroitin sulphates, amino acids, nucleic acids and essential fatty acids may yield a synergistic effect which promotes the healing of articular joint cartilage and stops further degeneration of the joint.
Clinical evaluation has revealed that the properly processed components of green Lipped Mussel improves joint lubrication, reduces inflammation and joint pain and improves the range and function of the affected joint. It provides some of the key building blocks necessary to rebuild cartilage and will increase the elasticity of connective tissue.
What other benefits will I get from taking Mobicosa?
In addition to the anti-arthritic properties, Mobicosa is rich in Omega 3's such as E.P.A. (eicosapentanoic acid) - vital for the maintenance of stable heart rhythm, D.H.A. (docosa-hexanoic acid) which is vital for brain and eye development in infants and now widely accepted for its ability to protect against heart attacks and strokes or reducing their severity and to improve recovery rates and times. D.H.A. may also help preserve memory and cognitive function. Another vital Omega 3 fatty acid O.D.H. (octadeca-hexanoic acid) helps maintain elasticity in blood vessels.
Mobicosa may not be taken by people with allergies to shellfish
Safety in pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding has not been proven.
Best results are obtained by intitially taking 2 capsules twice daily (morning and night) until symptoms are significantly improved (usually 2-3 weeks) after which the dose can be reduced to 1-3 capsules daily in divided doses. Listen to your body and increase / decrease the dosage accordingly. Most people remain symptom free on 1-3 capsules daily.
